Your Vacation Rights
The vacation time you accrue as an employee is the same as wages, and an employer can’t deny you payment of your accrued vacation time any more than they can deny you payment of wages for hours worked.
Additionally, vacation policies that forfeit your accrued vacation hours if you don’t use them within a certain period of time are illegal—just like any policy that forfeits wages you’ve earned by working.
If you think your employer hasn’t paid you for all of the vacation time you accrued, you may be entitled to back wages. To learn more, Contact Civil Justice.
